Washington Media Scholars Foundation’s annual in-person Awards Presentation and Networking Reception event is rescheduled for August 13, 2020 at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC. For scheduling purposes, please note that the event will be a mid-day luncheon event, not an evening reception. We will be monitoring world events and will share more details on the August 13 event as the date nears.
Meanwhile, our service to students and their hard work continues:
- 50 Media Fellows Scholarships were awarded in 2019
- 6 finalist student teams were selected in the Media Plan Case Competition in late March
- Expert judges are confirmed
- Virtual Media Scholars sessions for student finalists will take place June 8 & 9 with corporate media executives and professional development training
- Final student presentations will take place via video conference on June 10 & 11.
Now more than ever, especially given COVID-19, students need our collective help. We are more committed than ever to deliver scholarships to ensure that they can achieve their academic and career goals, with the support of generous sponsors like you.
We are so thankful for our many steadfast supporters who have reached out to confirm their commitments to Washington Media Scholars Foundation in 2020. If you are considering sponsorship, please know that your support of Washington Media Scholars Foundation will make a huge difference in the lives and futures of deserving students. Our students are not only high achievers, they persevere through financial hardships caused by the high cost of a college education, and often family medical issues, disabilities and severe personal difficulties. Because of COVID-19 impacts, many of our students cannot work their part-time jobs to help cover their school costs and families’ finances have been negatively impacted.
Your company can make the difference for these deserving students. WMSF welcomes your sponsorship in 2020. To learn more about how to support students through scholarships, connections and professional development, click here.
