The Washington Media Scholars Foundation will hold its eighth annual Networking Reception on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Congratulations to the University of Florida and University of Central Florida students Steven Torres and Olga M. Trejos Kweyete, winners of the 2016 Media Plan Case Competition. Each will receive a $5,000 scholarship award.

Edgar Castellanos and Danielle Cole, DePaul University students, also received $3,000 scholarship awards as the first runner-up team.

The winning teams were announced during a Networking Reception held at the Newseum in Washington, DC. Over 500 media industry professionals from around the country attended the annual event.

The Washington Media Scholars Foundation is proud to announce that Bob Schieffer of CBS News will be the special guest speaker at the 2016 Networking Reception.

The reception will be held at the Newseum in Washington, DC on Thursday, June 9. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the award presentation starting at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations to California State University, Bakersfield students Adrienne Salazar and Ricardo Perez, winners of the 2015 Media Plan Case Competition. Each will receive a $5,000 scholarship award.

Becky Lyle and Alexandra Sorensen, recent Brigham Young University-Idaho graduates, also received $3,000 scholarship awards as the first runner-up team.

On Thursday, June 11th, 2015, media industry leaders from across the country will gather at the Newseum’s Knight Conference Center for the Washington Media Scholars Foundation’s annual Networking Reception.

The event celebrates the achievements of 12 undergraduate finalists participating in the Media Plan Case Competition. The evening begins with an award ceremony announcing the winners of the National Excellence in Media Award and the distribution of $10,000 in scholarship awards.
