The Foundation
Welcome Message
We began the Washington Media Scholars Foundation to provide the opportunity for college students to gain firsthand knowledge of the public policy advertising field, and to meet – and potentially work for – leaders in the media industry.
With four years of effort, over 100 students have taken advantage of this opportunity to boost their careers, many of whom have landed a job or internship. Each year, 12 finalists in the Media Plan Case Competition have earned a trip to Washington, D.C. for Media Scholars Week. We’re happy to report that over $125,000 in scholarship awards have been distributed, primarily through the Media Fellows Program.
As president of National Media Research, Planning and Placement for over 30 years, I have had the pleasure to meet with a number of college students seeking help and guidance as they consider pursuing a career in public policy advertising. Under the best of circumstances, students often struggle to enter the job market. In the current economic environment, it is even more challenging to undergraduate students to get a foot in the door, network and launch their careers.
On behalf of our foundation, I encourage college students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn more about the public policy advertising field and meet key industry insiders by participating in the Media Plan Case Competition or applying for the Media Fellows Program scholarships.
Thank you for visiting our website. Good luck with your Media Fellows application.
Best wishes,
Robin D. Roberts
President
